First, remove the insert on your remote that prevents battery contact during the shipping process. Your candle must be in the "ON" position in order for your remote to function. The remote will NOT function if you candle is in the "OFF" or "TIMER" positions.

Keep in mind, the remote works best from a distance of 15 feet or less from your candle.
