My candle won't turn on / stay on, what should I do?Updated 4 months ago
We've identified three common reasons why a candle may not turn on, stay lit, or respond to the timer/remote: dead batteries, battery door connection issues, or the need for a reset.
If you purchased your candle on luminara.com in the last 30 days, please visit https://returns.luminara.com so we can help to replace your product as soon as possible. If you are past the 30-day return and 90-day warranty periods, please follow these troubleshooting steps.
- Use New Batteries
We recommend using high-quality batteries like Duracell or Energizer. Discount batteries tend to die faster and may leak, causing the candle to malfunction. Never mix different brand batteries or new batteries with old ones.
Our candles also support the use of rechargeable batteries, which can be a cost-effective option with consistent use. - Extend Battery Door Springs
If applicable, extend the battery door springs to ensure secure contact with the batteries. Place the battery door on a flat surface, grasp the spring at the base, and gently stretch it out. Repeat this process for the springs in the battery chamber if you can access them.
If you have other candles with the same battery door type, try swapping the battery covers. Sometimes, this can help the battery doors fit differently and function normally. - Reset the Candle
Switch the candle to the "OFF" position, remove the batteries, and let it rest for 24 hours. After 24 hours, re-insert new batteries and turn candle to the "ON" position.
Note: Never open the battery door without switching the candle "OFF" to avoid timer malfunctions.
